Speaking at Bali Children Foundation’s Annual Golf Day Fundraiser

Yesterday I had the privilege of speaking at the Bali Children Foundation’s Annual Golf Day Fundraiser which raised over $100,000. It was special to join Nick Riewoldt (AFL), Michael Bridges (EPL), and Russell Morris (AFL) as a guest speaker at the event.

The Bali Children Foundation is an amazing organisation that I will always proudly support. Over three events, The Bali Hope Ultra (an 84 km ultramarathon race across Bali in 2019), a 24-hour run (181kms in 2020), and the 4 x 4 x 48 challenge (4 miles, every 4 hours, for 48 hours in 2021) I’ve personally raised close to $20k for the charity, which has had a significant impact on disadvantaged children and their families.

The Bali Hope Ultra in 2019 had 20 runners come together from all over the world 🌎 and collectively we fundraised $165,000, which put 460 children through 6 years of school 🏫 🧡

When COVID-19 hit the world in 2020 it devastated Bali due to a lack of tourism, which severely impacted Balinese families. Schools shut down and children were thrown into work to support their families. BCF’s goals changed from providing education opportunities to providing immediate food relief for families.

Participating in these 3 events has been life-changing for me. The Bali Hope Ultra in particular was one of the best weeks of my life. It put everything into perspective and taught me how lucky we are in Australia. On top of that, I developed and strengthened relationships with some of the most loving and inspiring people I know 💗 Big thanks to Tom Hickman for putting together such an amazing event and to Margaret Barry OAM DSJ and her team at BCF for all the incredible work they do.
